DIY Sugar Scrub
Making your own sugar scrub is so easy and cost effective. Commercial sugar scrubs can cost anywhere from $10 to $36 for the same amount that we’ll be making today. I estimate that the supplies used to make enough to fill a 8 oz jar scrub costs about $3, that’s at least a $7 savings!
This is one of the most basic sugar scrub recipes, but as you become more comfortable making your own scrubs you can use different oils, like coconut oil, and multiple essential oils so that you can create your perfect scent. Although it’s simple, using this scrub once or twice a week will leave your skin feeling super soft and smelling great!
Supplies:
- ½ cup white sugar
- ½ cup olive oil
- 5-10 drops of essential oil, I like to use lavender
- Measuring cup (1/2 cup)
- Jar with a top
- Spoon
Directions:
The directions are pretty straightforward; just combine half a cup of sugar, half a cup of olive oil, and a few drops of essential oil (I do about 10, but I like it to smell strong). Finally mix the ingredients with a spoon and you’re done!
Depending on how thick or oily you like your scrub, you can feel free to add more sugar or oil.
Taada! Now you have a lovely foot/hand/body scrub you can use anytime!
